Description
This function switches the length and width values for selected parts. This proves useful when changing the grain direction of a part without having to change the L and W values of the selected panels and rotating manually.
Using BOM’s in IronCAD Drawings
Switching the Lenght and Witdh values is processed within each output (like exports and reports) of Para-Flex, but keep in mind that IronCAD does not recognize this change. IronCAD keeps handling the original Lenght and Width handle values of the parts, for example in the Bill of Materials in the Drawing Mode.
Switch LW and edge finishing
If Switch LW is used, it makes sense to also change the relevant edge banding with it. In the Settings menu (placed on the Options Ribbon Bar) the feature Switch edgeband can be found. If enabled, the applied edge banding is automatically rotated clockwise when the length and width of a panel are changed using the “Change LW” button.
If this function is off, the original side assignment (L1, B2, etc.) is maintained even though the panel its LW values are switched in Para-Flex.
Conditions
- Only applicable to materialized parts marked for the process of Cutting or CNC
- The Switch LW-status is saved in the part properties. Switching off Cutting or CNC does not affect this setting.
Tip
It doesn’t matter in which order you assign the sheet material or edgebanding
