Automatically create cutouts and holes

Pro

Description

Applies a drill operation within the complete scene (or selected items) to create holes and cutouts. This allows a cutout to be automatically applied to make room for specific components, like hinges, bolts or a sink.
The Drill function is available for users of Para-Flex Pro and higher. It will save a lot of time and prevent mistakes, as holes that are still in an old position after a design update or cut outs that were never actually implemented.

See below for a basic introduction on the feature or hop to section Drill B for information on how the functionality works in detail.

Conditions

  • The drill functionality is only available for users of Para-Flex Pro and higher.

The Drill function explained

Based on specific elements in the model, cut outs can be created in every shape in IronCAD. For example furniture fittings or inserts that need space in a metal tube, wooden panel or an imported STEP model.

The impression to the right shows two drill-shapes drawn in the base of the hinge, resulting in two drilled cut outs in the side panel of a cabinet.

The operation of the Drill function is quite simple. In short: the drill command cuts every IntelliShape with ‘HWDrill’ in its name, out of other parts. Of course, with the exception of the part that contains this HWDrill-shape itself.
