Applies a cutting template to an assembly

Start  Pro

Description

When it’s desired a pattern or grain (like a wood texture) continues over multiple fronts, a predefined sawing template can be applied. Note that the desired fronts need to be placed in an assembly, and the cutting template needs to be applied to that assembly.

Conditions

  • Functionality only available when an assembly is selected

Tips

  • Recognition of the name/text ‘HWDrill’ by the drill tool isn’t case sensitive.
  • The cutting shape should be an intellishape that adds material (though it creates cut outs), so use the positive basic shapes, not the Cut variants.
  • If the model should look neat, set the drill shape to Suppress.
  • After the Drill operation, the shapes are set back to their original suppress state.
  • The drilling operation will be slower if there is a mix of ACIS and Parasolid parts in a scene.
